NGVFA Respite Break
Annually in March - Butlins, Skegness

Next Respite Break: March 16th to 20th 2020

NGVFA Respite 2019 review

2019 Respite - Members in JAKs 2019 Respite - Members & families 2019 Respite - Craft time 2019 Respite - Darts afternoon with Rebecca Gadd 2019 Respite - Darts competition

2019 was the NGVFA's 20th break; it was another successful Respite Break.

One of the key aims of our Respite Break, in addition to providing members and families with a well-deserved break, is to provide some "Face to Face" information and support.

This year was another of our "respite light" years - originally due to reduced funding, but the format seems to work well. The only entertainment we provided exclusive to our members was the Monday night in JAKs for the meet and greet; the rest of the week all the onsite Butlins Entertainment was available, which was enjoyable.

There was also the Wednesday afternoon darts competition, very sadly without Eric Bristow this year, although his partner Rebecca did come and see us. It was still a very entertaining afternoon!

The dates for 2020 are: Monday 16th March through to Friday 20th March

The Application Forms for 2020 are now available

Expenditure Financial Form:

In order for us to apply for funding from the forces charities (ABF The Soldiers Charity, RAF Benevolent Fund and Poppyscotland) they require information on the income and expenditure that relates to the veteran applying for funding who cannot afford to pay for themselves. For the past 4 years we have been asked to obtain this information by the use of the expenditure form shown above.

This form is not designed to catch anyone out or stop them obtaining funding to attend the respite break. If the form is not completed and submitted by us this can result in either no funding or a reduction of funding we receive from these sources. Please note that the expenditure form is not used or sent to any other organisation by the NGVFA.

However if you do have any queries regarding the expenditure form when you apply to attend 2020 respite please contact the office to discuss.

If you have any queries about the respite break, the dates & location, or the application forms for next year, please contact us.
